Bronze, 4-1/2" Tall. December 2009
Streaking Santa comes from a design that has been in my family for years.
The original was a thin, painted foam, free spirit about 12" tall created during
the streaking craze in the 70's. A small magnet was used to hold it to the
refrigerator or other metal surface.
I decided to make a more sturdy version in bronze. I made the pattern
as usual from clay. This was used to make a single mold to cast a less
fragile pattern from "pattern metal". Pattern metal is a mix of antimony, lead
and bismuth and melts at a very low temperature and is easy to cast.
From this pattern I made several of these guys for Christmas gifts for my family.
